Your mission

  • Preparation and execution of model tests: Installation of tank models, execution of model tests, and verification of models on the 6-DOF oscillation platform (Hexapod).
  • Evaluation of seakeeping trials and model tests for roll damping systems: Analysis and documentation of results from model tests with Anti-Rolling U-Tanks and FLUME Tanks.
  • Creation of a database for model test results: Maintaining a structured database for storing test data, including roll moments and phase shifts.
  • Development of ship-specific roll investigation reports: Preparing reports summarizing the results of seakeeping analyses and documenting the effectiveness of roll damping systems.
  • Support in component manufacturing using 3D printing: Production of model components for testing through rapid prototyping.
  • Conducting CFD simulations on a Linux cluster: Assisting with simulations of anti-roll tanks and their validation.
  • Automation of numerical calculations.

Your profile

  • Educational Background: You are currently studying engineering, preferably mechanical engineering, naval architecture, marine engineering, computer science, or a comparable discipline.
  • Technical skills: Basic programming experience in MATLAB, Python, or VBA is advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of 3D printing is beneficial.
  • Good English skills are useful, as Hoppe operates internationally, and internal as well as external communication is mostly conducted in English. Knowledge of German is an advantage.
  • Work style: Independent, structured, and analytical, with a hands-on mentality.
  • You bring a high level of accuracy and teamwork skills.
