Supplier Quality Engineer (m/w/d) AIRBUS

As Supplier Quality Engineer (m/w/d) at Airbus, you will coordinate supply chain and quality performance for Ground Support Equipment and tools in Hamburg. The role combines supplier management, quality assurance and operational improvement in an international environment.
Your tasks:

• Manage supply chain and quality aspects of supplier contracts, with responsibility for on-time and on-quality performance and, where applicable, cost performance.
• Identify industrial risks, delivery issues and quality concerns at suppliers, then define mitigation measures and track their implementation.
• Develop, coordinate and follow up short-term recovery plans as well as medium- and long-term improvement and development plans.
• Assess suppliers during tendering activities and contribute to sourcing and selection decisions within calls for tender.
• Work with suppliers to support the Aftersales ramp-up and ensure that operational capacity and quality performance develop in line with requirements.
• Monitor or support New Product Introduction and Transfer of Work activities, ensuring sufficient industrial qualification maturity before the serial-production phase.
• Coordinate supplier approval and conformity activities, ensuring compliance with applicable aviation and regulatory requirements in cooperation with the relevant stakeholders.
• Present risks, actions, performance status and recommendations clearly to internal and external management levels, including during occasional business travel mainly within Europe and, where required, globally.

Voraussetzungen

• A completed bachelor’s degree or higher in Ingenieurwesen, Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen, Logistics, Supply Chain, Supply Chain Quality or a comparable discipline.
• Several years of professional experience in Einkauf, Lieferantenmanagement, Qualitätsmanagement, Qualitätssicherung or Supply Chain, ideally with responsibility for supplier performance and industrial risks.
• Practical understanding of supplier development, quality assurance, delivery performance management and structured improvement planning.
• Experience in Aftersales activities is advantageous, particularly where supplier ramp-up, service performance or recovery measures are involved.
• Experience managing recovery plans is a strong advantage, as is previous exposure to an aviation environment or comparable supplier networks.
• Strong analytical skills combined with an independent, structured and results-oriented approach to work.
• Confident communication, presentation and influencing skills for working with internal and external stakeholders at different management levels.
• High persuasiveness and assertiveness when representing supply chain and quality interests and driving agreed actions to completion.
• Detailed knowledge of SAP and good project management skills; experience with Google Workspace is also expected.
• Negotiation-level English is required. French or Spanish language skills are a strong advantage, and a willingness to travel occasionally is essential.
