Automation Engineer (Pharma)

About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to support automation systems within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing PLC-based control systems for GMP-regulated production processes and utilities.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for pharmaceutical production equipment.
• Support automation of process systems and clean utilities (e.g., WFI, PW, Clean Steam, HVAC).
• Troubleshoot and optimize automation systems to ensure reliable production operations.
• Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) activities.
• Ensure compliance with GMP and GAMP5 standards.
• Collaborate with process engineering, validation, QA, and maintenance teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, or similar.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial automation, preferably within pharma or biotech.
• Strong experience with PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider).
• Experience with SCADA/HMI systems and industrial communication protocols.
• Familiarity with GMP environments and system validation.

Nice to Have

• Experience with DeltaV, PCS7, or other DCS platforms.
• Knowledge of ISA-88 / ISA-95 standards.
